1966	Bayview branch officially opened by the North York Public Library Board in the Bayview Village Mall, as a leased facility, 3 November.
1967	Relocated and enlarged. Reopened April.
1975	Space reduced and reorganized.
1988	Space reduced, reorganized, and refurbished.
1998	Closed 23 December for refurbishment. Reopened 29 December.
2002	Closed 29 July for renovation and relocation within the Bayview Village Mall. G. Bruce Stratton Architects completed the project.
2003	Reopened 21 January.
2007	New open hours, 8 January. Number of open hours per week unchanged.
2010	New hours, 13 September due to Monday opening. Number of open hours per week increased from 40 to 50.5. Branch closed 3 to 6 November for retrofit. Reopened 8 November with Express Checkout.
2012	Sunday opening as of 14 October during Fairview's closure for renovation.
2014	Work on new location for branch at Bessarion Subway station commenced with Parks Forestry and Recreation as the lead agency. MJMA Architects engaged.
2017	Hours temporarily extended 29 May, due to North York Central's closure for renovation. Number of open hours per week increased from 50.5 to 60.5.
2017	Sunday opening as of 8 January during North York Central's closure for renovation.
2018	Construction of the community centre starts. Located at 100 Woodsy Park Lane.
2019	The City of Toronto consulted with the Huron-Wendat Nation in recognition of the historic significance of the Moatfield Ossuary and Village, located less than a kilometre away from the site of the new park, community centre and library. In this village, residents led healthy lives with little injuries, on average living to over the age of 50. In October 2019 the North York Community Council approved the adoption of this name for the nearby street Ethennonnhawahstihnen' Lane (formerly Woodsy Park Lane) and new park. This name was gifted to the City by the Huron Wendat Nation.
2022	The renaming of the branch was approved by the Toronto Public Library Board on January 24 after consultations with the Huron-Wendat Nation, the Indigenous Advisory Council at TPL, the Indigenous Affairs Office, and the City of Toronto. The new name, Ethennonnhawahstihnen’ (pronounced etta-nonna-wasti-nuh), is the Wendat word for “where they had a good and beautiful life."
2023	Ethennonnhawahstihnen' Branch opened on July 4, 2023. Built as part of a joint use facility with the City of Toronto, housing the library, a community and aquatic centre and daycare. Ethennonnhawahstihnen' Branch was designed by MJMA Architecture and Design and replaced Bayview Branch. It is 13,418 square feet, almost doubling the size of the branch that had been located in Bayview Village Mall.

Ethennonnhawahstihnen' (Etta-nonna-wasti-nuh) is on Indigenous land. This is the traditional territory of the Haudenosaunee (ho-den-oh-sho-nee) Confederacy (aka. the Six Nations Confederacy), the Wendat, and the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation. Toronto Public Library gratefully acknowledges these Indigenous nations for their guardianship of this land. We'd also like to remind and reaffirm, as Torontonians and Canadians, our accountability to these Indigenous nations, and to all Indigenous peoples and communities living in Toronto.

This land is also part of the Dish with One Spoon territory, a treaty between the Haudenosaunee Confederacy (aka. The Six Nations Confederacy), the Anishinaabek (Ah-nish-nah-bek)and allied nations, to peaceably share and care for this land, its waters, and all of the biodiversity in the Great Lakes region.
